A very neat and substantial School Room, built of stone, was opened on Friday, February 1st, for Divine worship, at this place.
The sum of £35, in aid of local efforts, was granted by the Melbourne Diocesan Society toward the erection of the building, which will accommodate about 120 persons, and we are happy to say that the liberal spirit of the people, for whose benefit it is designed, has enabled it to be completed without incurring any debt. We understand that much of the work, such as carting, carpentry, &c. was done gratuitously, thus showing how assistance may be rendered in the way of labor, in works of this kind, as effectually as by a gift of money.
The east window, we believe, was given by a mechanic.

About eighty children attending these schools, together with many of their parents and friends, assembled on Monday the 15th of April, and partook of the good things provided for the occasion. Several visitors were present, and many, both young and old, entered with great glee into the various games set on foot.
After an appropriate address from the Rev. William Brickwood, and a hymn, the whole was concluded with prayer, and all departed to their homes well pleased with the events of the day.

The foundation stone of this Church was laid by the Lord Bishop of Melbourne, on Thursday, August the 29th, in the presence of a goodly number of the inhabitants of Brighton.
This event, long anticipated, was most pleasing to the attached members of the Church; and the address of the Bishop upon the occasion will, we trust, stimulate them to contribute liberally towards the completion of that, which, under God's good providence, has been so happily begun. A collection was made amounting to £5 15s. 6d.; and the further sum of £20 was liberally given by one individual in aid of the funds for the erection of the Church.
